Making big decisions about your child can be difficult at the best of times. You are constantly weighing up what is in their best interests, and want to make sure that they thrive as they grow up.
When you are having to make such important decisions while also dealing with the breakdown of a relationship, or another possible major change in your life, it can become even more difficult to remain objective and to separate your emotions from the decisions that need to be made. Sometimes it can seem like communication with your child’s other parent would be impossible, let alone that you may be able to come to an agreement about your child’s future.
This is where mediation comes in. Our team of mediators can work with you and your child’s other parent to start to open up communication and encourage you to focus on what really matters. We will work with you to keep decisions focused, and make sure all parties involved are safe and included. Our aim is to help you and the other parent come to an agreement about your child’s future that has their best interests at the centre. Mediation may not be possible in every situation but we believe that, in the majority of cases, decisions made by parents together ultimately work better for a child than decisions made by a judge.
In this section you can find information about what mediation is, how our mediation process works and the answer to some frequently asked questions.
